CHILDREN’S WORLD is a campaign of the registered charitable trust ICD (Institute of Communication and Development)

Our current activities are the following:

Childrens-World: At present through scholarships we cater to more than 120 children in different parts of India, in Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Some of them have reached the college level. Many of our scholarship holders have made degrees and have entered professional life. Many of the current scholarship holders are in schools or in colleges.
Shelter: a roof over the head of the marginalised. We intend to construct homes for at least 12 families during this year. One house would cost only Rs.2.5 lakh.

Women’s Empowerment: women are the backbone of families especially in our rural areas. The money they earn goes directly into the family. So it is highly important to give them tools to generate income for their families. We have given them sewing machines, with which they can earn something extra for the families. Sponsor one sewing machine with₹.10,000/-. To some others we provide working capital for starting small ventures like curry powder unit, so that they can distribute unadulterated curry powder to households. This year we plan to help at least 20 women with sewing machines or similar means to generate additional income for the family. This year’s budget is ₹four lakh .

Food for the hungry: There are crores of people in our country who go hungry to bed. This should not happen. So we distribute food
kits with nutritious items to people who live in hardship. Monthly we wish to
distribute 200 food-packets which costs around Rs.500/- per packet. It
contains rice and other essentials for one month. For this we need Rs.1 lakh monthly.

2. Suggest

Our India is a very vast country. You, sitting in different parts of this great country will see poor and destitute children around you, in your neighbourhood. If you find anybody like that, you are requested to send the name and address (and other details of the child). They must be very deserving children or mothers, who need our help. Please suggest to us such deserving cases of children or women, who need help. Please bring the matter to our attention. We will look into the case and do the needful as expeditiously as possible. Don’t hesitate to tell us of people who need help.
